Trenant House is situated in the Lipson area of Plymouth, the regional capital of Devon, steeped in naval history and now a thriving modern city, with something for everyone.
Trenant House is conveniently located at the junction with Queens Road and Lipson Road. Access to the City Centre, The Barbican and the Hoe are minutes away by car or public transport.
Trenant House is a Victorian building that was converted from a hotel, to a Residential Home in the 1980’s.

Person centred care plans
Our aim and objective is to provide a range of services from respite and rehabilitation, to a total care for those who are more dependent. Each resident is assessed and has a person centred ‘Care Plan’, this together with our ‘Key-workers’ system gives each resident that ‘personal touch.’ Our aim is to treat each person as an individual, by meeting their individual needs, 24 hours a day. We have excellent support services from local General Practitioners and District Nurses.
A ‘Home from Home’
Our philosophy is to provide a homely, welcoming and relaxing ‘Home from Home’ for all of our Residents. We aim to offer people with dementia and mental health issues the opportunity to enhance their life by providing a safe manageable and comfortable environment. We give support and stimulation to help them maximise their potential physical, intellectual, emotional and social capacity. Residents are encouraged to be involved in all decisions affecting the running of the home, not least those decisions that are based their individual personal needs.
Trenant House is managed by Clare Richmond whom has a wealth of experience and joined the company from the NHS where she worked as a Community Psychiatric Nurse for a number of years. Activities are offered on a daily basis but we respect choice, privacy and dignity. Should a resident feel that they do not wish to take part of course their wishes are respected. Outings and trips are organised throughout the year.
